The Voltiano Lighthouse in Brunate, a picturesque location above Como, is an enchanting gem offering a fascinating walk and extraordinary panoramic views. This tower, dedicated to the illustrious physicist Alessandro Volta, is located at the top of a hill reachable through a pleasant walk. The climb through cobbled streets and paths surrounded by nature is a pleasant experience for visitors.
Once you arrive at the Voltiano Lighthouse, the panorama that opens before your eyes is breathtaking. You can admire a 360 degree panoramic view that embraces Lake Como, the surrounding mountains and the city of Como. The light of the lighthouse, when lit during the evenings, adds a magical touch to the night landscape.
The walk to the Voltiano Lighthouse in Brunate is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Lake Como and celebrate the genius of Alessandro Volta, all while enjoying one of the most evocative views in Italy.
The least tiring way to reach the Brunate lighthouse is by car, but it depends on traffic and seasonality due to the many tourists.
Starting from Como, go up Via per Brunate and once you arrive in the town, follow the signs that take you to the foot of the lighthouse steps where you will find paid parking.
We do not recommend the car as the road is really narrow and winding and finding parking is a real challenge, rather it is better to go up with the funicular and then walk a short distance to the lighthouse.
