Cenghen waterfall: simple walk in Abbadia Lariana

We are often fascinated by distant adventures, overlooking hidden treasures right in our vicinity. One of these natural jewels is the Cenghen Waterfall, nestled among the majestic mountains of Grigna.

To immerse yourself in this experience and enjoy the beauty of nature, we must head towards Abbadia Lariana, precisely in its hamlet of Linzanico.

The itinerary starts from the small square near the wash house and proceeds along a comfortable mule track which offers splendid views of Lake Como, terraces of olive trees and fruit trees. Leaving the noise of the city behind, we immerse ourselves in the sounds of nature and the smell of the forest.

After about 20-25 minutes, we come across the path coming from Crebbio and a fountain on the left. Following the path to the right, we reach a crossroads near a plateau and continuing on the right, we arrive at the Cenghen waterfall (while on the left you reach the residential area of ​​Campelli).

During the route, we spot a building with a white arrow on the wall indicating to turn right, thus entering the small village of Calech, with an extraordinary view of the Southern Grigna and its Segantini Ridge.

Following another white arrow to the left, we go up for a few meters and find ourselves on another panoramic terrace on the Val Monastero, at the foot of the Grigna.

Here, we take the path on the left at the unmarked fork, ignoring the one that descends into the valley below, and continue until the Cenghen Waterfall.

Once we reach our destination, we enjoy the wild nature with its rocks and the tranquility of the place. The mountains of the province of Lecco offer a variety of excursions suitable for all levels, such as the path to Cenghen Waterfall ad Abbadia Lariana.

This path, accessible to all, winds through the woods for about an hour. Although relatively easy, it is still important to approach it with the right attention, wearing trekking boots e suitable clothing.

Recommended especially in summer to escape the heat, the walk can be enjoyed in all seasons.
